The occasion is often characterized by the slaughtering of goats, sheep and cattle for feasting. Addressing the gathering, the Public Relations Officer of the Council, Alhaji Umar Baba Issa, said parents have a major role to play in shaping the lives of their children.
“And again, what is happening within the Muslim community internationally, it is so important that we call on our parents to try as much as possible to get closer to their children and counseling and advice must be the order of the day. Again, it’s our duty as responsible parents to be closer to our children and impact knowledge that will be of great value to our children. I will also call on our Muslim scholars who pray in our Mosques on Fridays to also convey a message of unity”.
Also addressing the Muslim gathering, Ashanti Regional Minister, Peter Anefi Mensah, asked Ghanaians to contribute their quota to make Ghana a better place.
