The newly elected General Secretary of the Convention People’s Party, (CPP), Nii Armah Akomfrah, has told Citi News that with his election as the chief scribe, the struggling party will work again.
The former Communications Director of the party beat competition from James Kwabena Bomfeh also known as Kabila and Kosi Dedey during Sunday’s election in Sunyani.
Nii Armah Akomfrah, who replaces former General Secretary Ivor Greenstreet, says his election will revive the party because he is bringing new energy and ideas to make the almost dormant third force attractive and formidable.

I have a national plan and an annual programme for every single branch of our party so from next month every branch of the CPP will meet; and for every meeting of the branch we will have an ideological and philosophical content; we will have a financial content which is the point at which everybody contributes their dues.”
He added; “The CPP simply must work harder and I believe in energizing our people to work harder. We will have an outreach programme to the people if possible every single month and convince the people in the communities.”
Delegates also endorsed Professor Edmond Delle, a former National Chairman as the new Chairman who replaces Samia Nkrumah.
The former Jomoro MP is now eyeing the top job of leading the party as flagbearer in the 2016 elections.
Two women, Hajia Hamdata Haruna and Susana Amannkwaa were elected as first and second national vice chairpersons, while Alhaji Tijani Rahman was elected the third vice chair.
Ernesto Yeboah was elected the National Organizer after a stiff competition.
Isha Sule Fota was elected National Women’s Organizer with Ethro Gordon being elected as the National Treasurer.
