According to her, the said robber together with his colleagues tried to escape in a vehicle but one of them was caught by the angry residents.
“I was awake at dawn watching a movie and I heard people shouting and calling someone a thief… They passed in front of my house and headed for the junction leading to the Last Stop towards the Lamptey Mills School but their car stopped. I do not know how they managed to catch one of them because they sped off after fixing the car as I watched from my window. It was just this morning that I heard they managed to grab one person who has been burnt to death…” she narrated.
It is however unclear what the suspected robbers stole or who they stole from.
The Police are yet to confirm the latest mob justice in the area.
About a week ago, another set of angry residents at Amanfrom, near Kasoa, tracked down a man they claim was a robber and burnt him to death.
They had complained that the Police deserted them after several robbery attacks in the area.
An Ecobank manager was also killed at Kasoa within the same period by unknown assailants.
Human rights activists have condemned the mob justice and have advocated the prosecution of persons who take the law into their own hands.
