Anti-corruption crusader, Sydney Casley Hayford believes investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, did not err in  exposing the corruption within the Judicial Service.

Anas recently exposed his two-year investigation on corruption within the judiciary and subsequently aired it despite a pending court case barring him from doing so.

[contextly_sidebar id=”1QtY0h3VHQuduHrpGfJHuOjdRSHNplHM”]The journalist has since the public screening of his work received massive criticism from lawyers of the accused judges who argue that the video is unlawful.

Speaking on Citi FM’s news analysis programme, The Big Issue, Casley Hayford rubbished their claims that Anas deliberately enticed the judges to receive bribes in order to ruin their reputation.

“I think one of the judges claim that he was lured into taking the bribe and he therefore felt that it was a set up. I want to understand; how different it is from when a young lady comes into your bedroom naked and tempts you to sleep with her. You have a choice to make, you either do or you don’t. If you don’t, you are considered to be someone of very high moral fibre, but if you did; then of course your morals are weak…If someone comes to tempt you and then you succumb to the temptation it simply means that this is something that you will do” he posited.

“Anas has done nothing wrong. I see nothing wrong with it. All that you have is that, your legal system is rallying around both the judges, the judicial system and the lawyers are now rallying around to try and protect each other and to try and find a mechanism and way out where they can say that; this was a deliberate attempt to ruin some people’s images and to ruin their reputations”.

Casley Hayford believes Anas’ intentions were borne out of his desire to prove that the judicial system is corrupt, adding that “he did what every investigative journalist will do.”
