The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo has outlined a four-point development agenda which he says, would change Ghana if given the nod to lead the country in 2016.
[contextly_sidebar id=”0KtjYgJ99gpAwFt2faFyWAyZIVqMmul6″]According to him, the strategies are hinged on the structural transformation of the economy which would move Ghana from its current state to a world class one.
He said this in Shama, on the final day of his ‘Rise and Build’ tour in the Western Region.
“This is the four point programme that we are going to go into the election with, and will be the basis of our policies for the development of our country. It is a time tested strategy. It is the way Korea went, it is the way Taiwan went, and it is the way China has been going. That is the way, God-willing, Ghana is going to go, to develop our economy, bring jobs to our young people and prosperity to the masses of our people,” he said.
4-point programme
He indicated that the four-point development programme will focus on:
- Boosting industrial and manufacturing outputs in our country and bank support to boost Ghana’s industrial and manufacturing sectors
- Raising emphasis on radio productivity in agriculture
- Reforming the financial sector to support the growth in agriculture and industrial sectors
- Formulation of a very aggressive ECOWAS policy
Electoral record
In his interaction with party members, Nana Addo was worried about the poor electoral record of the NPP in settler communities and charged the members to help correct it.
He therefore tasked party members to find means of improving relations with the settler communities by speaking a proper language of equality, fraternity , solidarity, togetherness and oneness.
“I am not coming on any tribal agenda for Ghana, I am coming on a Ghanaian agenda for the people of Ghana.”
