The Akropong District Court in the Ashanti Region has remanded five persons arrested in Abuakwa Koforidua in connection with the shooting to death of the Chief of the area, Nana Adusa Gyapong, in police custody.

According to the Abuakwa Police Commander, Superintendent Joseph Anyaaba, the suspects will reappear in court on October 1.
He gave their names as “Banahene Nana Kweku Nkrumah, Kwabena Acheampong, Ibrahim Apau, Yaw Gyamfi (alias Batman) and Paul Nsia Pobi.”
He indicated his outfit has more “names but they have left the town so we are gathering intelligence and as soon as the information is ripe; we shall move in and initiate the arrest.”
Superintendent Anyaaba also appealed to the public to “volunteer information that will lead to the arrest of the other suspects who are on the run.”
