Vodafone Ghana will over the weekend hold a two-day boxing tournament to unearth the next generation of boxing greats and deepen ties with Ga communities during the Homowo season.
[contextly_sidebar id=”19JFJCteItwScaJzO4R4RtBwSvzZZPoT”]The tournament will feature sixteen (16) boxing clubs or gyms in Accra battling for honours at the Bukom Square and Mantse Agbonaa Park.
The Acting Chairman of the Greater Accra Amateur Boxing Association (GAABA), Hon. Wallace Nii Tackie-Koomme said the competition will be opened on Sunday at Bukom Square with the grand finals taking place the following day at the Mantse Agbonaa Park.
“Since 2011, GAABA has made it a tradition to celebrate the Homowo festival with our lovely sport of boxing and we are grateful to Vodafone for sponsoring this year’s event”, he added
Corporate Communications Manager of Vodafone Ghana, Ebenezer Amankwah said Vodafone will support with other packages and give out medals to 8 winners of the male category and one female category.
