A leading member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has warned that Ghanaians will never forgive the party should it lose the 2016 general elections.
The former Northern Regional Minister, Prince Imoro Andani is convinced that the NPP stood a better chance of winning the next elections.
[contextly_sidebar id=”4ksmOvx7AOHa8EltGYOat90SyFejFmfL”]His caution comes at the back of incessant internal wrangling in the NPP which he described as a source of worry to its fraternity and Ghanaians who consider the party as the best alternative to the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The party’s fracas hit the rooftop following the death of its former Upper East Regional Chairman, Adam Mahama.
Prince Imoro Andani implied that party could be disintegrated after another defeat in 2016.
He hence called for unity for victory to salvage the nation’s ailing economy as he described the situation.
Prince Imoro Andani exclusively told Citi News former President John Agyekum Kufuor will be indispensable in the party’s 2016 campaign.
“Nana said you see our victory certainly cannot go without the former President because he has done something for the country we will continue referring to: it means that this is a leader who has recognized the former President and believes that he can continue from where he stopped and so as a party I think we should work together we cannot continue to be petty there is no way we can make it everybody is important.”
Prince Imoro Andani described the NPP Presidential candidate and leader as a time tested and astute politician who tolerates divergent views.
“I can always talk for Nana in this regard because he is somebody who is ready to work with everybody: when you get close to him you will see that he has an opened heart: he has an opened mind and he is willing to work with everybody and he is somebody who believes that the only way we can make it is when we work together.”
