Kumasi Asante Kotoko players won’t dwell too much on Saturday’s attack by armed men on the team’s hotel according to the club.
Some players and officials of the club were assaulted when the assailants broke into their rooms and made away with several items.
The attack came just hours before their big game against rivals Accra Hearts of Oak on Sunday.
The club in a tweet stated that “the players & technical team are unfazed by this and are working in earnest for the big game.”
The players were also taken through some “warm up drills to shake off the nerves after the incident”
The management of the club have met to discuss the attack and the security at the hotel will certainly be called into question.
It represents less than ideal preparation for the Porcupine Warriors ahead of their game later on Sunday against Hearts of Oak.
Both teams go into the game in need of a vital win to strengthen their hopes of survival in the league after a disappointing season so far.
Kotoko are 11th on the table with 32 points, 3 points clear of Hearts in 14th but the Phobians will go above the Kumasi-based team with a win.
