Citi Business News has gathered that over 100 workers of domestic airlines in the country are likely to be laid off in the coming days.
[contextly_sidebar id=”fhMXUGhGkNRDz76aEXwK0oPgrdf2tETQ”]This comes after Ghana Airport Company Limited (GACL) directed domestic airline operators to handover their ground handling operations at all airports to private companies Aviance Ghana Limited and AHS Menzies.
Citi Business News sources say the current arrangement has become necessary because government has contracted Aviance Ghana Limited and AHS Menzies to handle ground handling operations at all the airports.
By this current arrangement domestic airlines like Starbow Airlines and African World Airlines are automatically going to lay off their staff that hitherto were in charge of handling ground operations at all the airports in the country.
Citi Business News sources say domestic airlines in the country are currently up in arms over the current arrangements since the new contractors are coming in with their own staff.
