There have been a number of Nintendo mobile device concepts over the years, including some pretty wild design ideas.
But few look as product-ready as this new, Android smartphone-inspired Nintendo handset concept. Created by Germany’s Curved Labs, the Nintendo smartphone concept looks like a standard Android phone on the surface.
But hidden in its sides are two traditional Nintendo controllers, giving the device a distinctive look that the company’s designers might do well to consider. (It’s also reminiscent of the Sony PlayStation Portable, aka PSP.)
To top it all off, a tiny Mario key fob is attached to the device — the perfect accent for the real thing.
The company itself recently put an end to rumors that it would use Android in its next console. But with the company’s move to smartphone gaming, it’s not hard to imagine a Nintendo smartphone becoming a reality soon.
