Chalewote Art Festival to run for 4 days

Organizers of the CHALE WOTE Street Art Festival have for the first time extended the duration for the annual program to four days.

The festival is scheduled to take place from August 20 – 23 at James Town in Accra.

Produced by ACCRA [dot] ALT, the arts festival will bring together industry players including artists, musicians, community activists, writers, designers and students to showcase and discuss ways to develop the arts industry.

This year’s edition which is the 5th in a row is on the theme, “African Electronics”.

According to the organizers, this year promises other exciting side attractions such as: series of conversations on arts; historical tours; The Open Runway; The HighLife Music Café; High energy processions as well as The Nubuke Hub.

On display will be the works of Ghanaian artists including; Bright Ackwerh, Benjamin Okantey, Adjo Kisser, Faustina Nsoh and Nana Oforiatta Ayim.

Also on display will be the works of international artists like JHB Massive – a multidisciplinary group of 15 South African artists, Elsa M’bala (Cameroon), Temi Kogbe (Nigeria), Sandra Krampelhuber (Austria) and Kenturah Davis (U.S.).

The CHALE WOTE festival is supported by Citi FM, REDD KAT Pictures, Foundation for Contemporary Art Ghana, Dr. Monk, Afro Gallonism and No Limit Charity Foundation.
