The committee set by the Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Antwi-Boasiako Sekyere to investigate the Bunso Arboretum Canopy walkway disaster has recommended that the place should remain closed.
The members said the facility should be opened after the Institute of Engineers and Ghana Standard Authority have supervised the rehabilitation and certified its safety for public use.
It would be recalled that on July 1 during the celebration of the Republic Day, 21 tourists who had gone to the centre were involved in an accident, when one of the canopy walkways lowered down from a height of 35 metres.
The tourists sustained various degrees of injuries.
The committee also recommended the payment of compensation to the victims.
The members asked that the police should be allowed to continue with investigations to find out if there were any breaches of the law.
Mr Antwi-Boasiako said the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) would study the report and issue a white paper to ensure that the recommendations are implemented.
The five-member committee was inaugurated a month ago and chaired by the Deputy Regional Police Commander, Mr James Abass Abaah, with Mr Sarpong Boakye Yiadom of the RCC as Secretary.
Other members include the Regional Fire Officer, ACFO P.K Donkor, Mr Alfred Agyemang of National Disaster Management Organisation and Madam Bertha Amponsah of Ghana Tourist Authority.
