Voting has begun in Talensi in the Upper East Region to elect one of the eight candidates vying to represent the constituency in Parliament.
In all 39,523 eligible voters are expected to cast their votes in 74 polling stations.
The Talensi seat became vacant after the incumbent MP, Mr Robert Nachinab Doameng Mosore resigned to take up the position of a paramount chief of the Tongo.
Some of the candidates contesting the seat include, Joseph Toatoba, Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Dennis Atiah Tambil, Independent People’s Party (IPP), James Mambora Doubil, New Vision Party (NVP), Benson Tongo Baba, National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Dr Wumbeogo Michael Namalteng, People’s National Convention (PNC).
The rest are Yaro Bameezina Philip, Ghana Freedom Party (GFP),Isaac Kungarzore, United Progressive Party (UPP) and Wuni Thomas Pearson Duanab, New Patriotic Party (NPP).
