Wonda World Estates CEO wins ‘Ultimate Gold Award’ at HOSA’s business awards

The Head of State Award Scheme (HOSA­), Ghana’s version of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award on Wednesday honored Wonda World Estates and Petronia City CEO Nana Kwame Bediako with the Youth Entrepreneur of the Year award.

The award was presented at the 3rd annual HOSA Gala, which was held at the Banquet Hall of the State House Accra, Ghana.

[contextly_sidebar id=”S1tMC2rrPim0T3mqh5uB3ypUQ8YntiRO”]The award which forms part of the inaugural HOSA Ghana Business Awards, seeks to recognize the contribution of Ghanaian businesses to the youth community in the country.

The awards scheme is a member of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Awards Association, and was established to challenge young people in Ghana to excel through a variety of voluntary activities.

Present at this years Gala was – John May, Secretary General to the Duke of Edinburgh, Minister of Youth and Sports Mustapha Ahmed and the Education Minister, Professor Jane Opoku Agyemamg.

Winners of this years HOSA awards includes, TIGO Ghana – Brand of the Year and Most Innovative Company of the Year, HFC Bank – Best Bank for Young People and the Best Employee of the Year and Golden Tulip winning the award for Best Customer Focus.

Accepting the award, Nana Kwame Bediako thanked the sponsors of the event and congratulated them for providing an opportunity for the youth of the country to excel.

In a touching gesture, he dedicated the award to “the souls we lost to the floods and fire.”

He went on to say “We will work hard to change our country, we will work hard to ensure your children and grandchildren are safe in this country.”

This award is the second received by the CEO this month. On the 4th of July at the 2015 GUBA Awards, he won the award for Best Business Entrepreneur at a ceremony that featured dignitaries including; the Former First Lady of Ghana – Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, Mayor of Royal Borough of Greenwich – Norman Adams, Councillor John Fahy and Lord Hastings.
