“Everything that has happened is the doing of the Lord and I thank God almighty. I thank all my supporters and all the delegates for coming out to speak their minds. Remembers that there is a 2016 election and that is the ultimate. I thank you all for your support and I pledge my support to the NPP party which is the one that has been victorious today,” she added.
On his part, the newly elected Parliamentary nominee, Carlos Ahenkorah told Citi News that he will work to retain the seat and increase the NPPs votes in 2016.
“Tema West has always been a seat safe for NPP. As far as I’m concerned, we’ve had brighter days in all elections since 1992. Unfortunately, I don’t know what went wrong our votes keep coming down,” he noted.
Carlos Ahenkorah further added that “we have a lot of work to do and I can tell you that I have plans on the table to get things underway and increase the margin as much as I can. When it comes to getting the votes, I have what it takes to bring it back.”
Carlos Ahenkorah had in an earlier interview with Citi News noted that he is likely to make Naa Torshie his campaign manager in 2016.
“Naa Torshie is going to play a very vital role in what we are going to do in Tema West. Indeed, she might even lead our campaign team in 2016,” he added.
