Almost two months after the disasters of June 3, Citi FM and its partners continue to lend a helping hand to members in its community who were affected by the floods.
On Monday the 27th of July, the station donated some relief items for onward distribution to the owners of 36 garages at Adabraka Sahara.
The aforementioned garages had suffered damages after being submerged by the flood on June 3rd.
The donated items included bags of rice, cartons of milk and soap among many others.
Since the June 3rd disaster, Citi FM and its partners have made similar donations to the victims in Adabraka and Osu, which were among some of the worst affected areas.
Hendrick Noble Kinnah, a former Assembly Member for Adabraka Sahara Odawna Electoral Area, received the items on behalf of the owners of the garages.
In a statement, he thanked Citi FM for the donation and mentioned an upcoming cleanup exercise that will be taking place in the community on Saturday, August 1st.
“We want the whole community to take part so we can clean the filth in this community. Bring your brooms, your shovels, and everything else that can be used to clean the environment,” he said. “Let’s do this together, as one people.”
