The 4th edition of World Summit of Mayors is currently underway in Accra.
Attending the summit mayors from Africa and of African descent in the diaspora, invited guests from the Global Alliance of Mayors, the UNAIDS and the United Nations.
[contextly_sidebar id=”CWbvldua9couQKw1KgMbGHQ0DP8fojv1″]Officials from the Global Alliance of Mayors had, last month, paid a visit to the Vice-President, Kwesi Amissah-Arthur at the Flagstaff House.
The leader of the team and the Senior Adviser to the Executive Director of UNAIDS, Dr. Djibril Diallo, stated that President John Mahama’s good leadership qualities during his tenure as Chairman of ECOWAS was the reason Accra was chosen as the venue for the summit.
He added that UN has followed with keen interest and approved of the dynamic leadership of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) Chief Executive, Alfred Vanderpuije which had made the capital one of the most pleasant destinations in Africa.
