The Chief Justice Georgina Theodora Woode, has condemned the recurring leakage of national examination papers in various schools in the country.
[contextly_sidebar id=”vOStLYksg9z9CY6HSbCZJvkr9ZoZilkm”]Making reference to the cancellation of five papers in the ongoing Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), the Chief Justice called on parents, teachers and students to help curb the menace.
The Chief Justice was speaking to some students during the 18th annual Chief Justices Mentoring Session in Accra yesterday.
She said: “You are the future leaders of this country, please make use of the best opportunities that have been offered to you.”
“It’s very distressing news that students will go and either through parents or through peer pressure, look for questions so that they can cheat. If you do that, you are hurting yourself. We are looking for selfless leaders and that starts, I believe also, from when you are writing exams. So you say, no to your friend who tells you we can make it through the easy way out.”
WAEC had explained that the cancellations were in the best interest of the student.
They added that, this will also make the institution’s certificate more credible.
