After the explanation, the court entered a not guilty plea for him.
He was, consequently, remanded by the court to reappear on June 28.
Prosecuting, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ernest Acheampong said the complainant was a businesswoman who lived at Ashaley Botwe, while Yaw was unemployed, and Gilbert was a student of a Junior High School. Michael was a businessman.
He said on Wednesday June 10, at about 1430 hours, Yaw and Gilbert went to the complainant’s boutique and met her daughter, who was then in charge of the shop.
The prosecution said the two, who were in mask, holding cutlasses, attacked the complainant’s daughter and tied her hand with a rope and succeeded in robbing her of the wares.
DSP Acheampong told the court that on June 11, Yaw and Gilbert went to Nanakrom and sold some of the items to Michael, and later proceeded to Madina Zongo Junction to sell the rest to one Patrick, now at large.
He said a complaint was made to the Police and during investigations all the items were retrieved.
In their caution statement, the convicts admitted the offences.
