In what appears to be the latest killing related to the age long Nkonya Alavanyo conflict, a 68-year old sub chief of Nkonya Ahenkro, Nanai Obi Adiee has reportedly been shot dead on his farm.
He was attacked on Monday morning.
[contextly_sidebar id=”Q8PlaUHSAAgOE8NI3AtXuOoMo9xDPdKc”]Former Assemblyman of the Nkonya Ntonda, Mr Sylvester Akompi who narrated the incident to Citi News Gratham Mckintosh said; upon hearing, a gunshot they traced it to the farm of the chief adding that “before they got there, they saw his lifeless body lying down.”
He said they quickly informed the Police about what had happened.
The Hohoe Divisional crime office, ASP Edward Tetteh Otumi confirmed the incident to Citi News and said they have already begun investigations.
Several people have been killed while others have lost their properties in a sixty-year-old protracted land dispute between the two feuding towns; Alavanyo and Nkonya.
Government has hinted that it will soon take over the disputed land to maintain peace.
