Despite embarking on a campaign to educate the youth on the dangers of using drugs, hiplife artiste, Kwaw Kese is now calling for the legalization of Indian Hemp in Ghana.
Kwaw Kese, known in real life as Emmanuel Botchway was remanded for weeks and subsequently jailed for a day and fined GHC 1,2000 by a Kumasi High Court for smoking Indian Hemp at a public place in Kumasi.
In a post on both his Intsagram and Facebook pages on Monday, Kwaw Kese also known as ‘Abodam’ questioned why individuals should be jailed for smoking Indian Hemp also known as ‘weed’.
“Why should a person be jailed for smoking when it’s their choice??? After all cigarettes are poisonous and harmful but it’s for sale!!! #legalize #Ntampee now !!! #Yakubu”
He was of the view that since 80% of Ghanaians smoke, then it’s time to legalize the drug.
“I think it’s time to legalize #Taaba so that those 80% who shhhmoke in Gh can enjoy their choice of smoke without any interventions!!! ”
He also thanked his fans who supported him in diverse ways during his arrest, remand and imprisonment.
“Thanks to these #MadTimerS for that support when they arrested me for enjoying my choice of smoke.”
