Eight people, including two pregnant women and two babies are reported to have died in an accident on the Atebubu – Edwira road in the Brong Ahafo region.
[contextly_sidebar id=”rqZ6GKw3Z8pbgDaeBEixamV8dSgoX1UZ”]According to the Brong Ahafo Regional Police PRO, ASP Christopher Tawiah, the accident which occurred at about 1pm on Tuesday involved two vehicles in a head-on collision.
He reported that one of the vehicles, an Opel Astra which was from Atebubu burst its tyre and ran into the other vehicle which was coming from Edwira to Atebubu.
“The impact was so great, 12 people were involved in the accident. Unfortunately, 8 died on the spot while 4 people who sustained serious injuries were sent to the Atebubu Hospital,” ASP Tawiah confirmed.
The eight who died in the accident included three women of whom two were pregnant, three men and two babies.
The bodies of the deceased have since been deposited at the Atebubu Government Hospital morgue.
