Concerned youth of Garu-Tampene in the Upper East region are calling on government to sack the District Coordinator of the Ghana youth employment and entrepreneurial development agency (GYEEDA), Richard Azumah financial misappropriation.
They claim Mr Azumah failed to pay about one hundred GYEEDA beneficiaries their allowances for a year.
Addressing a press conference in Garu-Tampane, Spokesperson for the group, Mr. Akologo Damien Mbawin said government should immediately get the GYEEDA district coordinator immediately relieved of his position and prosecuted because he has “failed woefully to administer leadership desirous of the youth in the district.”
He said Richard Azumah continuous stay as district coordinator of GYEEDA will completely defeat the fight against corruption.
Mr. Mbawin added that the group is also calling on government to conduct an independent investigations into Mr. Richard Azumah academic achievements.
“We are more than convinced and expect government to respond swiftly, otherwise we will be compelled to embark on a series of actions that would include mass demonstrations, court suit, and the likes,” Mr. Mbawin reiterated.
Mr. Richard Azumah GYEEDA coordinator for Garu-Tampene is currently under investigations for allegedly diverting a total amount of GHC200,000 from the official account of GYEEDA into a dummy account for his personal spending.
