MTN Ghana foundation has launched the MTN Teachers` Improvement Award Program (TIAP).
The program seeks to improve the skills of teachers across the country to professionally grow Science, Mathematics and English education.
TAIP will give teachers the opportunity to improve their capacity in Science, Mathematics and English education at the University of Cape coast and University of Education, Winneba.
Selected teachers will have the opportunity to improve and upgrade the skills to be able to impact positively on the Human resource base of Ghana.
The award scheme will support 100 teachers over a ten year period and it will inject GHC 125,000 to award 20 teachers annually.
Teachers in first and second cycle public institutions will be assisted financially to upgrade their education at First Degree and Masters Level.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Teachers in first and second cycle public institutions are eligible for the award scheme.
REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must be a citizen of Ghana
All applicants must have a minimum of five (5) years teaching experience in a public institution at the time of the application and must commit to returning to that institution or another public institution upon completion of the sponsored program as well as shall be approved by the foundation.
Applicants shall be bonded to remain in the teaching service for a minimum of five (5) years upon completion of the first degree and three (3) years for the Masters program.
Applicants must not be older that fifty (50) years at the time of application.
Applicants must complete a set of application forms.
The program is open to teachers who wish to pursue courses in English, Science (Integrated Scinced, Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and Mathematics education only.
Applicants must gain admission to the University of Cape Coast or the University of Education, Winneba before applying.
