An Autopsy report has revealed that New Patriotic Party Chairman, Adam Mahama died from shock lungs (acute respiratory distress syndrome) and extensive acid burns.

[contextly_sidebar id=”oSWRUewstBur44jq6L1eJH49qYLohYjo”]The Police made the report known on Tuesday, when brother of NPP Chairman, Paul Afoko was brought before an Accra Circuit Court.

According to the Police charge sheet, Gregory Afoko was arrested after he and one, Asabke Alangdi laid ambush at Adam Mahama’s residence and poured a substance believed to be acid on him.

“…the suspects poured the substance…on his head, face and other parts of his body and fled on a motorbike.”

“When asked to lead Police to the house of the second suspect [Asabke Alangdi], he rather took them to the father’s house. Police later located the house of the second suspect but he got wind of the impending arrest and absconded with his wife leaving behind their baby,” the Police stated.

The Police further noted that they took a gallon which contained some of the substance  for forensic examination adding that “Post mortem examination was conducted on the body of the deceased and the Pathologist gave the cause of the death as shock lungs and extensive acid burns.”

The Police say they are still investigating the case.
