The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Alhassan on Wednesday inspected some cells in Accra.
He made the inspection in an unannounced visit to have firsthand information on security measures at the cells in the region.
His visit follows recent jail breaks that occurred in parts of the country.
The IGP was accompanied by the Director of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Prosper Ablorh and other security officials.
Speaking to Citi News, Police PRO, Superintendent Cephas Arthur said the IGP’s visit was to confirm and ensure that service rules are obeyed.
