A fourth person in the Denu cell break in the Volta region has been re-arrested.
[contextly_sidebar id=”gmgFPgSZTHxxGSZSLHTVqxQVYhqWHvwb”]This means three more of the suspected criminals are still at large.
Seven people broke cell in Denu in March 2015 which led to the interdiction of two officers who were on duty at the time.
According to the Volta Regional Commander, DCOP Peter King Gyinae, the public’s help is still needed to arrest the remaining three and also retrieve the second riffle the escapees took away.
“Upon information we received we had to track the fourth person down to a village near Denu. Apparently…he had come from Denu towards the city and then we arrested him.”
Meanwhile in reaction to public concerns over recent jail breaks Police Director of Public affairs Superintendent Cephas Arthur assured of the polices resolve to stem the tide but says there is no cause for alarm.
He said the Police administration periodically take “the personnel through refresher courses. They go through some of these things also. So we hope that this thing becomes a thing of the past but we must not forget that this is a phenomenon that has been with the world since time immemorial and we might never be able to completely eradicate it but we will manage it.”
