Ghana goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey says he and his colleagues will have to be alive to the threat posed by David Villa ahead of their MLS meeting this weekend.
The Norwegian born Ghanaian goalkeeper is settling in well in Portland after moving on from Norwegian side Stromgodset.
His recent strong showing will however be put to test when they come up against David Villa’s New York City whom he believes is still a huge threat.
“They are a very good side with the ability to hurt us so we have to be alive to them,” Kwarasey said.
He added: “Villa is a very strong player with a lot of ability so we also have to keep an eye on him. I am personally looking forward to coming up against him.”
Timbers are 10th on the Eastern Conference table of MLS and a win could shoot them to 7th.
