Some Police officers have been dispatched to the residence of the Director General of Police Human and Resource Administration, COP Patrick Timibilla to enforce a house arrest sanction slapped on him.

COP Timbilla was put under house arrest after he was implicated by some victims of the recruitment fraud.

[contextly_sidebar id=”0j5QwPC5DJ2zaWSGox2V5ganZJ6k2znO”]The special taskforce set up to investigate the case is said to have discovered some text message evidence as well as correspondence between him and the victims.

Citi News’ Kojo Agyeman who visited the suspect’s residence said there were “two barricades both at the entry and exit points with some unarmed police officers trying to ensure maximum security” in the area.

He reported that the atmosphere was “very calm”, adding that “some friends and relatives were allowed into his residence to talk to him”

Last week, hundreds of men and women arrived at five police training depots for enlistments into the Ghana Police Service but they were turned away after it was discovered that the enlistment was a scam and their recruitment letters were fake.

The Interior Ministry together with the Ghana Police Administration launched investigations into the matter and mounted an intensive search for the culprits.

So far, about 12 persons including two Police officers are in the grips of the Police.
