Anarchist I am a muslim and I went to Presec. In Presec, i was never forced to attend any christian religious activity.

you asked about responsibility for the teenagers when they were freed? Why not adopt the Presec model? In Presec, whenever there was a christian activity, we were required to meet separately in a classroom, not too far from the assembly hall and often times, the chaplain would visit us in our meetings to make sure we were indeed discussing islamic issues. we would also take the names of attendees which we submitted to the chaplain.

The school also gave us a place for prayer and the whenever as muslims we won an award in Islamic Quizes etc we were acknowledged during the speech and price giving day. this is the true meaning of tolerance.

My sister would be punished by her seniors (NOT TEACHERS) for performing salah in school. Don’t forget, all these schools are Public Schools and that teachers take their salaries from GES, but not the church.

How does wearing a hijab impede a nurse from performing her duties? how does a teacher wearing a hijab prevent her from teaching?

we can live in peace while respecting the religious freedoms of all and sundry.

a Catholic institution of which I am very proud of and I know my fellow
mates who are Muslims also feel proud to be called an old saint. I know
Muslims were allowed to go for their prayers and other activities on
campus. As a Methodist my believes and teachings differ from that of the
Catholic Church, yet we had no issue with what existed in the late 90’s
, so why do some people want to divide us with non-existing problem.
Do we want to encourage truancy in our schools, then we must as well
change our National pledge and anthem. People in authorities talk as if
there are only Christians and Muslims in this country. We should be
mindful of the directives we give now since it may go round to come and
hunt us.

Church schools were established with principles in mind, not profit so they can not be threatened by government or any trouble makers. Those who cannot abide by church rules can leave said institutions.
These are teenagers we are talking about.
Who will be responsible for them once they are freed from morning devotion?
what if they sneak out of the school into town without authorization?
who will be held responsible if something untoward happens to any student in the dormitory in the absence of friends who can report quickly for remedial action?
what if things go missing in the dormitory while others have gone a gathering?

Muslims don’t particularly care about human rights unless of course they are the ones at the receiving end of injustice. This situation is not a crises and should not be given the hype it is currently enjoying. Is the president saying we are so afraid of them that after a small protest, so many have to come out condemn perceived injustice? lets be careful here.
