Work is progressing steadily on one of the Community Day Senior High Schools projects in the Ashanti Region.
Bosomtwe District is one of the beneficiaries of this project believed to expand access to quality education as stated by President, John Dramani Mahama in the state of the nation’s address.
Checks on the site saw workers doing earthworks.
The foundation of the project which commenced about 3months ago, has not yet been laid, attributing it to the soil structure of the site.
Major works on the waterlogged site according to the Bosomtwe District Chief Executive is set to begin by the end of the month when earthworks is done.
Mrs. Veronica Antwi Adjei is highly delighted about the four-storey, twenty –four (24) classroom blocks which comes with two computer laboratories, two science laboratories, assembly hall complex, administration block, teachers accommodation among other important facilities set to create congenial atmosphere for teaching and learning.
She said when the project is completed it would help absorb the increasing number of qualified candidates from the BECE.
“I like it, because those areas don’t have any schools, they all go to school at Bekwai and Oppong Kyekyeku Memorial High school because they are at remote area and there is no means of getting a school for them, except the ones outside the district. So siting the school at Oyoko, they are going to feed them with so many basic schools surrounding the area, Abountem, Dedesua, Aduaben, Esupong…”
She expressed gratitude to the President for choosing the district as a beneficiary.
“I congratulate the President for giving me such a nice gift…some of the children became street children after basic school, getting back to farming and so on…so this has been a benefit to me.”
