The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wuntumi has donated free school uniforms and foot wears for distribution to some school children in the Tamale Metropolitan Area.
The items comprised 200 sewn school uniforms and 210 foot wears which he handed over to leadership of his Fan club in Tamale.
He promised to make more of such donations for distribution to school children in the Upper East and Upper West Regions.
He told Citi News the gesture was meant to prove that the NPP which metamorphosed from then Northern Peoples Party cared for the people of Northern Ghana.
He accused President John Dramani Mahama of neglecting brilliant but needy pupils in his home region with his administration’s free school uniforms and exercise books project.
The NPP Northern Regional Women’s Organizer, Hajia Amama Shaibu on behalf of the women’s wing commended Chairman Wuntumi for his exemplary leadership.
She described Chairman Wuntumi as an achiever whose generosity should be emulated by the wealthy in society.
Hajia Amama assured Chairman Wuntumi of more women votes in the region for the party in 2016.
She accused the governing NDC of deepening the poverty of northern women who are small scale entrepreneurs.
The NPP Northern Regional Youth Organizer, Alhaji Rashid COP thanked Chairman Wuntumi for inspiring the youth to protect the ballot boxes in 2016.
He said the youth were ready to match the NDC boot for boot at the polling stations in 2016 to avoid rigging.
Alhaji Rashid COP claimed the NDC had failed the people of the north who have always massively voted for the party at previous elections.
