Staff of Zenith Bank including its customers on Saturday embarked on a health walk in Accra on the theme: “Zenith at 10, you are the reason.”
They started the walk at the Accra Sports Stadium and went through some principal streets in Accra.
The Speaker of Parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho and some Members of Parliament as well as other organizations took part in the exercise.
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank Ghana, Daniel Asiedu, speaking to Citi News said the walk was to encourage Ghanaians to leave healthy lifestyles to prevent premature deaths.
“If our customers are well we believe that it will impact on us not just from the business point of view but also their health because you will agree with me that they say the wealth of a nation is the health of its people.”
The Managing Director observed that majority of Ghanaians do not take time to exercise because of their busy work schedules.
“That is the reason why Zenith Bank has the quarterly health walk,” he said while hoping the health walk will become a national affair with the President or his Vice taking part in it.
“I look forward to maybe the next health walk in addition to the speaker the President or the vice President joining us so that it’s become a national event because this is a way of making Ghanaians know that we need to create a good health habits amongst ourselves.”
Mr Asiedu also disclosed that a number of activities has been scheduled to mark their 10th anniversary saying they will climax it in September.
