Frantic efforts are underway by the Asamankese Police to find a woman who is alleged to have dumped a newly born baby into a refuse dump.

In an interview with Citi News the Asamankese District Police Commander DSP Anane Appiah confirmed the death of the baby and subsequently indicated that investigations are currently underway.
He narrated that they had a distress call from the town and quickly rushed to the place to investigate the matter.
He said they found a baby boy in the box and took him to the hospital but sadly said the “the doctor after checking the baby pronounced him dead.”
He said the remains have been deposited at the Police morgue.
In a related development, the Wa Police have also mounted a search for a woman who dumped her newly born baby at a refuse dump at Sandamuni.
