Two men have been arrested by the police for allegedly defiling a seven year old girl in Ablekuma CP, a suburb of Accra.
The two suspects Joseph Bortey, 28 and Emmanuel Atta Boateng, 24, both aluminium fabricators allegedly defiled the girl after deceiving her of helping her with her homework.
[contextly_sidebar id=”8HVmsmv40Zl8BWkJuFjkGQ5YsVAGhAUW”]Citi News reported on Monday that two men had been locked up in a room at Ablekuma CP in Accra by residents of the area for allegedly defiled the victim.
Confirming the arrest to Citi News, the Odorkor District Police Commander Superintendent Abraham Acquaye said the victim’s mother reported to the police last Monday that her daughter had been defiled by the two suspects.
“A certain woman on the 2nd February came to us and reported that her daughter had been defiled and indecently assaulted by the two suspects. I am using the word defiled and assaulted because two suspects were involved and they committed different offences at different times. One of them defiled the girl by having sexual intercourse with her and the other person inserted his fingers into her private parts,” he said.
According to Superintendent Abraham Acquaye, the police proceeded to the crime scene and arrested the suspects.
He stated that the suspects upon interrogation have confessed and admitted the claims against them adding that “we will process them for court.”
