As part of efforts to restock the blood bank, Ecobank and MTN Foundation are leading a blood donation campaign.
The exercise which took place at the fore court of the MTN Office in Accra was aimed at raising a total of 700 pints of blood.
According to the Head of communications and PR at Ecobank, Reverend Mrs. Patricia Sappor ,” there are widows , widowers and orphans out there simply because there was no blood available to save the lives of their relatives and loved ones.
This is heart breaking. Donating blood is critical in stocking our blood banks as it provides an urgent and essential lifeline to that in need.”
Ecobank commended the several donors who had volunteered to donate blood as part of the 2015 MTN/Ecobank blood donation exercise.
“As blood donation reduces the risk of heart attack and weight loss we are confident you donors will equally benefit from this act of selflessness”, Reverend Mrs. Sappor added.
