A man believed to be in his fifties has been shot dead at Nkonya Ahenkro in the Volta Region.
[contextly_sidebar id=”r8qkm9zJeEeLu1H1cSIbF6MYqseXtuUc”]Reasons behind the shooting remains unclear but the Police have started investigations.
Several people have died while others have lost their properties in a sixty-year-old protracted land dispute between the two feuding towns; Alavanyo and Nkonya.
This has led to a number of shooting-related deaths in the area.
But it is unclear if Wednesday’s shooting is related to the dispute between the two factions.
The two towns, Alavanyo and Nkonya have been under curfew following recurrent clashes over a piece of land.
However, government’s efforts to end the seeming recurring clashes have proved futile but, the Vice President has assured that government will crash any attempt to escalate the conflict.
