The Ghana Football Association has agreed to absorb officiating fees worth about GHC 18,700 for Division One League Clubs ahead of the new season which begins this weekend.
GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi announced this decision when he met Club officials, members of the Division One League Board (DOLB), members of the GFA Executive Committee and other key stakeholders after the Launch of the new season and the announcement of GN Bank as sponsors of the Division One League on Wednesday in Accra.
Mr. Nyantakyi also informed stakeholders at the meeting that the Football Association intends to give each club GHC 5000 to help them prepare for their games this season.
Each of the 48 Clubs were also given five footballs for their training sessions as well as footballs to be used on match days.
The FA President used the opportunity to further remind clubs of their obligations in the sponsorship contract that the GFA signed with new sponsors, GN Bank.
Opening matches for the 2014/2015 GN Bank Division One League season will be played on Saturday and Sunday 21/22 February 2015. Pure Joy will however host Kotoku at the Tema Stadium in their first match of the season on Friday 20th February.
