The Commission of Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) has directed the National Information Technology Agency (NITA) to block its website temporarily.
[contextly_sidebar id=”mzqk1y8t3Iw1JHDvFBWHZxZiZ28riDOm”]The website of the Commission has been taken down by hackers claiming to be based in Tunisia.
The Tunisian flag has been imposed on the home page of the website.
This incident follows a recent attack on about 10 government websites including that of the official Presidency of Ghana website by a Turkey based hacker.
Speaking to Citi News, the Public Relations Officer of the CHRAJ, Bernice Adu said the Commission will commence investigation into the incident while the site is temporarily blocked.
Bernice Adu told Citi News said CHRAJ has asked “NITA to block the site while we initiate investigations into what really happened.”
“We have our IT department which is responsible but I cannot tell how long it will take to restore the site,” she added.
The hackers have not given any reason for their action, but some experts say government websites are being targeted because of their poor security features.
