Ghana defender Jerry Akaminko has been ruled out for rest of the Turkish football season due to the worsening of the ankle injury suffered in 2014.
Akaminko has been struggling for fitness since he hurt his ankle on international duty with the Black Stars in a pre-2014 World Cup match against the Netherlands.
The former Heart of Lions defender was expected to play again after three months but he has since failed to meet the targeted return date and his club, Eskisehirspor, confirmed Akaminko’s situation through its club doctor, Abrahama Eldem.

“Akaminko’s season has ended. He is currently in London for treatment. He has a big injury and has not recovered.”
It is unclear when Akaminko will make a return but the latest setback means there is a high chance Akaminko will not be part of the Black Stars setup for the 2017 AFCON qualifiers.
