A 20-year-old small scale miner, Seth Arhin, was on Wednesday remanded into prison custody by a Tarkwa Circuit Court for stealing 59 conveyor rollers valued GHC 4,244.22.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Oscar Amponsah told the court, presided over by Mr. Justice Obeng Asante that, the complainants are security officers of Goldfields Ghana Limited, Tarkwa mine.
Inspector Amponsah said on December 21last year, the security officers were on their usual patrol and on reaching “Conveyor number 18 Cut Back ” which is within the company’s concession, they spotted the accused person and two others now at large stealing 59 conveyor rollers belonging to the company.
He said Arhin and his accomplices took to their heels but the security officers arrested the accused person and handed him over to the police.
