The Global Shapers Accra Hub is organizing an event in that will connect the influential World Economic Forum and put Ghana on the map.
Slated for Thursday, January 15, the session will connect with World Economic Forum’s annual meeting of 2015 of Davos of Switzerland on the theme ´Building trust in Public-Private Partnerships´.
Altogether 40 cities will be connected to Davos to host a global conversation on an issue related to the theme of the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting 2015 in Davos-Klosters, according to a statement issued by the Hub.
The Shaping Davos event is being organized by the Global Shapers to enable local solutions for global issues.
“The event is an important opportunity to share local knowledge and perspectives, enabling people around the world to learn from Accra’s experiences and also to respect and appreciate our perspectives,” Hub Curator Deborah Ahenkorah said.
The Hub will contribute to the event in two main ways – a Local Activity on Thursday, January 15 and a main activity – Davos Broadcast – on January 19.
This is the first time that Accra will be connected live with the World Economic Forum.
The local activity will feature a panel discussion with a diverse range of national experts from the public and private sectors as panelists.
The panelists include Moses Baiden, Chairman of the Margins Group and Honorable Rashid-Abdul Pelpuo, Member of Parliament, Wa who doubles as the Minister of State for Private Public Partnerships.
Also speaking will be Christabel Dadzie, a well-known consultant for USAID on non-governmental projects.
Accra Hub’s own Global Shaper Kow Essuman, a lawyer, will also be speaking.
The main activity, Shaping Davos Live, will provide viewers around the world with an unique opportunity to access the highlights from the panel discussion.
