Scores of taxi drivers are currently demonstrating to protest what they describe as hardship imposed on them due to recent fuel price hikes.
The demonstration is to register their displeasure with a recent introduction of a 17.5 tax on petroleum products.
The demonstration, is under the umbrella union of the “ Ghana committed taxi drivers”
The decision to impose a 17.5 tax on petroleum products has been criticised by many Ghanaians with some calling on government to reverse the decision.
The NPA has however clarified that the imposition will only result in a 3 percent increase in petroleum products.
