The Chief Justice, Her Lordship Georgina Theodora Wood has appealed to Ghanaians to report provable allegations of malfeasance against staff of the Judicial Service.
According to her, such complaints can be channelled to the Complaints Unit of the Service for investigation.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the Complaints and Public Unit of the Judicial Service at Sekondi High Court, Mrs Wood said the Judicial Service will take measures to investigate and sanction employees found culpable.
[contextly_sidebar id=”bZhHNHw5PFuSmbrPMCnILufQ3WfRQpHO”]She was however quick to add that the Service will not deal with baseless and unprovable allegations.
The Chief Justice also stated those who were not satisfied with certain judicial decisions have no place at the Unit.
She however advised such parties seeking redress to seek an appeal from the service.
Ms. Wood also advised such parties seeking redress to promptly appeal against such decisions and orders rather than writing petitions against the decision makers because those complaints would not be countenanced.
The Chief Justice, Mrs Georgina Theodora Wood, earlier decried the level of corruption and the pervasive abuse of state resources by individuals and institutions entrusted with public funds.
She said the situation has created serious doubts in the minds of Ghanaians as to whether any public official or institution can stand up to scrutiny.
