The incumbent National Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Ludwig Hlodze has been defeated in the party’s national executive elections in Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region.
Newly elected Sidi Abubakar Musah polled 385 against Hlodze’s 196 votes on Saturday.
The other candidates; Abubakar Mutiu Rahman managed 89 votes while Prince Kassim and Paa Kwesi only polled 7 and 4 votes respectively.
The newly elected NDC National Youth Organizer Sidi Musah, in his victory speech to party delegates said: “I am humbled by the prudent decision of our dear party delegates. You spoke the voice of the people.
You spoke the voice of God. Thank you for believing in my ability to lead you into the unknown future. And I thank and praise the almighty Allah for making our dream come true,” he added.
Ludwig Hlodze has held this position since 2010.
Meanwhile, Joyce Mahama Zainab has also been elected as the party’s National Women’s Organizer in an election held in the Upper West Region.
