We have reported our concerns to management and when we tell them what they tell us is the management had decided to increase salaries but the Ministry is not ready to increase salaries. that is why we decided that if that’s the case, we will look at the situation in Ghana so we can also not work everyday and go home and starve so we have to go on demonstration. We will start with the sit down strike, we will come to work alright but we will not work.
A worker at the factory Vincent Abbey told Citi News that the workers will not follow through with their threats if their demands are addressed.
A government has been hit by a series of strike from the labour front in 2014 alone.
12 Labour Unions embarked on an indefinite strike to protest the non payment of their outstanding claims.
The strike was enforced by various groups including the Ghana Medical Association (GMA) among others.
The strike was however called off after a series of negotiations with government.
The various groups however gave government an ultimatum to meet their demands or face their wrath again.
