A 35- year- old suspected armed robber, has been shot dead by the Yeji Police, in a gun fire exchange.
Superintendent Alhaji Maama Arhin, Brong Ahafo Regional Crime Officer of Ghana Police Service stated that two of the robbers have been arrested and are in police custody assisting investigations.
[contextly_sidebar id=”y3VjCVWzKHiAIfMydFzyypf0XYRBKnIV”]He said the incident happened at about 0300 hours on Friday between Kubiri and Sawaba village on the Yeji Atebubu high way when the patrol team was on their normal operations.
Supt Arhin said the patrol team during the operation came across a gang of robbers who have blocked the road with large logs and were attacking people.
He said the robbers on seeing the patrol vehicle approaching, opened fire and the Police responded killing one of the robbers who was wielding a G3 riffle.
The other robbers escaped into the bush but were pursued by the Police and managed to arrest the two.
His remains have been deposited at the Yeji hospital.
