How can a developing country whose needs are basic have the so called engineers yet everything we need is imported. talk about basic to medium machinery for weeding, cleaning, manufacturing etc. the funny part of all is when we are told engineers managing the thermal plant: the thermal plant is a generator all they do is to put in fuel and change filters and connectors, when the plant stop working they will call the proper engineer from abroad to fix it. is that not a shame? common mini hydro with concentrated pressure through pipe tubes to drive a mini turbine they can’t do. Again using local materials to construct roads another wahala, (do we have to pay $1m for a killometer)we have to get a foreign company to do that. we re still using cement blocks to build under our climate and we spend thousands on AC to cool our homes and pay huge electricity bills. Oh and again solar, wind, biomass when student electrical engineers in other countries are making this things, a fully grown so called Ghanaian engineer talk pick but can’t get his head around it. I will stop here but just look around you, stop and think for a second ask yourself what better Ghana it will be if we had engineers who uses their brain a little bit to be daring in doing something different, I mean that bridge etc, its not about money.
