Construction of one of government’s 200 community senior high school throughout the country has begun at Tanokrom-Samreboi in the Wassa Amenfi West district of the western region.
The project carried out by Kasmo Company Limited commenced on 29th September this year and is expected to be completed within 18 months.
Project manager of Kasmo Company Limited Patrick Gbadago in an interview with Citi News said “we have block A, B, C and D and they are a three storeys each. We are currently working on block A. The block A we’ve done the excavation, we’ve cast the concrete and the columns, and we are now at the laying of the blocks. It’s left with the laying of the beams and then we fill. The Block D too we have started the excavation.”
Mr. Gbadago expressed optimism that the progress of work which has seen no resistance from farmers whose lands were used like other areas, gives him the assurance that the project’s completion deadline will be met.
He added the school has other ancillary facilities and a modern ICT department.
Assembly member for Tigarikrom electoral Area Paul Appiah Larbi in whose jurisdiction the project is being carried out expressed his gratitude to President Mahama for honoring his promise and pleaded with him to do same for other pressing needs in the area.
“For some time now we have been yearning for a school like this because of the financial burden associated with sending our wards to schools afar. At the moment we are very glad even though the project is not completed and we are grateful to the president for honoring his promise. But there is much to be done more especially the provision of portable drinking water. We are appealing to the government to intensify its provision of water to this district not forgetting asphalting the Asankragwa Samreboi road.”
